A friend of ours has a teenage son who has a brain stem malformation called Chiari. He has had several surgeries and is becoming more critical daily. He was scheduled for surgery in April, but is deteriorating quickly and they want to push up the surgery to March 31st. Mother, Trinette is working hard to make all the arrangements to make this happen. Please keep her and her son, Aaron in your prayers. She is keeping things close to the vest and does not want too much personal info out there, but they live in the San Antonio area. We covet your prayers of intercession for this family. |

Aaron will be having surgery on March 31st in Austin. They are talking about some pretty gnarly stuff being done, possibly removing part of the skull bone, some vertebrae and even possibly cutting into the dura surrounding part of the brain and spinal cord, all to create more room for the enlarged brain stem. Aaron is a pretty tough 8th grader who also suffers from diabetes and asthma. He could be facing up to a year of recovery. Continue to lift him and his family up in your prayers, as well as his doctor, Dr. Lee. I will keep you posted as I know more. |

Aaron is having surgery today, Wednesday, 11:30 am MST in Austin, TX. Keep him, his family and the doctors in your prayers today and agree with me for a speedy recovery and the the family draw closer to God through all this. |

Aaron came through surgery well, went right to transitional care instead of intensive care. They did remove a vertebrae and put in a dura patch. He is in a lot of pain. He is having trouble keeping anything down and is afraid to go to sleep, because he thinks his blood pressure will drop too low.
Keep praying, Brothers and Sisters. Satan is on the run!! |

Dude! You guys have been praying, haven't you? Aaron is doing well and the doctor was so impressed with his progress, that he has moved him into a regular room, has put him on oral pain meds and is talking about sending him home on Sunday. Nice Easter present:)

Aaron got to go home yesterday, but he is having extreme pain in the evenings through the night.
Keep praying for him and his family. His toughest time is between 7 pm and 10 am. Let's bathe him in prayer during this time.

Aaron is making progress. They are gradually lowering his pain meds. He does still have difficulty through the night and doesn't sleep well yet. He starts with homebound teacher this week. Pray that this goes well. Let's keep lifting him and his family up in prayer each night, that he will get some rest.

The teenage boy in Texas, Aaron, continues to deal with pain, but is able to handle it with oral medications. He still has issues with sleep, but they have tried hypnosis the last couple of nights and he has been able to get 6+ hours of sleep in a night. He has been working with a homebound teacher to get caught up with class. Will probably not return to school this year, but if he continues in his work with the homebound teacher, he should be able to rejoin his classmates next year.
